Fruit and Veg Concoction

What you need

– A selection of fruit and vegetables, use anything you have that needs eating up
– A blender

What to do

– Ask an adult to help you peel any of the fruit and veg that need peeling
– Ask an adult to help you cut up the fruit and veg into small chunks
– Put the chunks in the blender and mix it up
– Taste your concoction

What's going on

Fruit and veg are great at keeping us healthy, although fruit contains a lot of sugar so making a drink from both fruit and vegetables is a good way to get some useful nutrients without having too much sugar. Some concoctions may taste better than others so try different combinations and see which ones you and your family like best.

Facts

It is estimated that one-third of food produced for us to eat is wasted and some of this is fruit and vegetables. So don’t let them go to waste, make them into a concoction!

Leafy green vegetables such as spinach contain a lot of the mineral iron, which helps to keep our blood healthy. Try some in your next concoction.
