The Crunch is Wellcome’s national initiative, aimed at starting conversations about how our food, our health and our planet are connected, and what kind of future we want for our global food system.
During summer 2016, every school in the UK received a free science experiment kit, over 180,000 people went to events for families, and adults from different backgrounds discussed ways of achieving a healthier and more sustainable global food system. Over 900 Ambassadors signed up to the programme and many started conversations and organised events in their local communities.
Wellcome asked our partners, the people who developed and delivered each strand of the initiative, to share their experiences of running their projects and what participants thought of the activities. You can find their reports below.
We have also commissioned an independent evaluation of The Crunch and will publish the report here in the autumn once all the results are in.
